Dispute "Verified" False Information - Help!

I submitted an online dispute last week to Experian for a credit card that was discharged in my September, 2001 BK.  They reported as 180 days late through 2004.  The verification shows

Account History:
180 days as of Oct 2001
Debt included in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy on Nov 30, 2004

This is clearly wrong, and it doesn't even match the BK entry on the CR, which is dated in 2001.  What do I do to correct this?  Is there someone I can contact at Experian to deal with this, or should I just ignore it?

Send them a copy of the BK paperwork proving date and ask them to correct immediately.  They are guilty of false reporting if they don't change it.

However, from what I've been through - they pretty much do what they want anyway and do get away with a lot of violations to consumers.

Good Luck!

They listed a phone number where I could call for additional information.  It only provides the information on the dispute and disconnects you should you attempt to reach an operator.  Does anyone know of a special handling number for Experian?  I spoke with the creditor, who confirmed that they received a dispute yesterday, but they said they informed Experian that the discharge date was 2001.  I'm sending a letter with a copy of the discharge order certified to Experian now.  This is rather frustrating!

Frustrating is the understatement.  I personally won't call anymore, it's always better to have the papertrail.  You are doing the right thing, just a nice letter stating they are incorrectly reportingSmiley Happy here is the proof - and ask them to submit the new updated copy to you too.

It is particularly frustrating, because I believe the creditor to be providing them the same, correct information that is being reported on TU and EX.
