question about credit score

I used to have a high credit score because I always pay my bills in full and on time. We recently moved, an I made a purchase with a department store credit card. I send a check with my change of address.

Well, 4 month later I received a collection call from this company. Apparently, the check and change of address did not arrive, since there was no evidence of my new address. Of course I paid the bill right away.

Now my credit score dropped from 730 to 676. I am so mad about this. I always pay my bill.

Here are my questions:

Will this effect my husband's credit score as well ( the account was in my name)?
How can I get rid of this on my credit report?
Is a score of 676 still good?

Thanks, any advice is greatly appreciated!!

NO.. Only on joint accounts

Dispute it as inaccruate.. also do you have a copy of the check and COA?

<Dispute it as inaccruate.. also do you have a copy of the check and COA?>

First, thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the check and COA. I don't have any proof, but I am 200% sure I send a check with the coa.

Where can I dispute this as inaccurate? I never had trouble with something like this, so  have no clue.

Thanks in advance,

Re: question about credit score

You should see dispute instructions on the bottom of your myfico.com reports. The information will link you to the CRA which is who you submit your disputes through.
