Hey all,
My Target RedCard statement closed 9/28/20. It already updated on EQ today. I noticed it had a "new remark". It reads "Account previously in dispute. Now resolved by data furnisher". I did NOT dispute my account.
How could this remark have been added?
DP's:
-opened card 6/1. $300
limit. Put about $400 through it monthly. Pay down during the cycle and PIF right after statement cut. Trying to get it to grow in time.
-100% on time payments.
-Added an AU to this account mid July and then removed them a week later BEFORE the statement cut (5 days prior to close date). So I am not sure if the trade line ever made it to the AU's credit report.
Has this happened to anyone with any credit card accounts? Could my AU have had it report and possibly dispute it as "I do not own this account"? Therefore a remark being added on my report?
This irritates me as I do not know which information was disputed and I would not ever dispute ACCURATE information. I fear this will hinder my ability to grow my RedCard limit anytime soon. I'd call the creditor to ask or EQ- But I don't want to open up a new can of worms on this account if it isn't necessary or going to hurt me at all. I have been debating calling RedCard customer service to ask when this dispute was initiated. I no longer speak to the AU so I am not asking if they filed a dispute, as much as I want to.
I will see if any remarks were added when EX and TU update the TL. Fingers crossed that those weren't also disputed by someone other than me.
Target added the remark when I asked them to report off cycle. Since it really doesn't affect anything, I left it.
@Brian_Earl_Spilner Thank you. I figured it out. I called a month ago about a payment amount that had not reflected, didn't result in any lates or anything negative of that nature. They confirmed the dispute status was due to me questioning my own payment, lol. Issue resolved. Can lock this one up. :-)
