Disputing Ain't Easy

I am definitely (lately) being put off with disputing things.

A couple months ago I had an account on EX not updating and talked to the creditor about it (not knowing at the time it's considered a DIRECT DISPUTE) I explicitly stated that Trans and EQ were fine and it was only EX not updating.  Lo and Behold I looked up and all 3 CRA showed a dispute.

Ex did update at that time but hasn't updated the account since. (I'm going to let sleeping dogs lie for now)  The disputes on Trans and EQ have now resolved.

Then earlier today I actually Disputed an account through Credit Karma dispute process. The account has been paid and closed for several months but still showed OPEN on Trans. I had finally just got tired of it showing up incorrectly.

Lo and Behold 5 hours after I disputed it I received an email stating the dispute was resolved and closed.

I was like Wow that was quick.

I looked at the results and saw they had deleted my 3 yr 4 month perfectly paid tradeline off my report. I just wanted it to reflect being paid.

Checking my scores show no changes so whatever AAoA...remains the same so whatever SMH.

Did the account on TU show $0.00 balance when you disputed?

It was my Selflender account and it showed 0 balance but the original 25 dollar monthly payment was always included in Total Minimum Payments.

Also when disputing it I was trying to see if for some reason the account still showing open had something to do with the large difference between my Trans scores and my EQ scores.

Both have the Exact same data except Eq has the Selflender account closed and Trans didn't. I know they have different algos but the difference is rather large.

Re: Disputing Ain't Easy

If it was showing $0.00 balance, the difference in scores is simply attributable between tweaks each CRA has in place.

Your scores were well within what's to be expected between the three.

Even with identical data, there is almost always some difference between the three.

Additionally, $25.00 really wouldn't be making or breaking your DTI.

Since this is your second rodeo with disputes, may I suggest you wait a bit in the future unless it's something inaccurate that's really hurting your score. Disputes have unintended consequences, and those typically aren't reversible.

Re: Disputing Ain't Easy

Doesnt happen all the time. In rare circumstances, items deleted from your credit reports can, in fact, reappear on your credit reports even after the dispute resolution process has been completed. This practice is referred to in the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) as "reinsertion."

TWO MORE MONTHS NO BK! (on Eq/Ex)
