Disputing a credit inquiry from a CA

I'm rehabbing a small edu loan through a CA and I got a hard inquiry on my TU report last friday. I called the CA and asked them what the heck since I haven't done anything to them to warrant a hard inquiry. They said their computer system does it automatically and had to pass me to a higher-up to see what I needed to do to get it removed. The higher-up told me to file a dispute with TU regarding an unathorized inquiry and that it would get it removed. Now before I go and do this, does this sound right and will it get deleted that way or am I just better off living with the inquiry?

Here is my concern with this....

Their "computer" pulls your credit since they own a debt with your name on it trying to get info on your whereabouts and get an idea of your financial situation. You call asking why and the human says the computer does it automatically and you to dispute it.

1. You dispute with TU or any other CB whom basically sends an email to the CA asking did you make a hard pull so & so's credit file?

A. Techincally speaking this is true... How can it be "disputed" ?

B. If the computer pulled it... and the computer has to answer if it did... What do you think the answer will be?

 2. Disputing something from a CA sometimes has the effect of either making your file go from the passive attempt to collect department  to the active attempt to collect... Or the CA for whatever reason sales the file to another CA

3. You dispute and it gets deleted

As Woody Hayes used to say: " Everytime you throw the ball.... One of three things will happen...Two of which are bad! "

You really cannot dispute an inquiry with the CRA.  You need to send a letter to the CA and ask them to have it removed or at least recoded to a soft inquiry.
