Disputing multiple items

Hey Folks - There are approximately 8 30-60 days past due notices on my credit reports as well as two previous addresses that I never lived at. Thats roughly 10 items of dispute. I will be sending a written certified letter. What I'm wondering is am I better off sending one letter listing all the disputed entries or am I better off splitting up my disputes and sending two letters - one now and then the second after the first disputed items have been investigated? Just wanted to get some thoughts or personal anecdotes... Thanks!

Re: Disputing multiple items

Just to clarify --the 30's and 60's, are they legit? IMO, it's a terrible idea to dispute legitimate lates. They should be GW'd instead.

Disputing legit lates can have some ugly backfires --you could get fraud alerts placed on all three reports, and the tradelines (CC accounts, loans, etc.) that have these lates could be deleted as well.

I would definitely go ahead and clean up the addresses. That sort of thing can slow down approvals for credit, and it can also result in the creditor doing multiple inq's in an attempt to verify your address. Ouch!

Re: Disputing multiple items

I disputed lates I thought were incorrect and still believe they are.
HSBC Auto had me as late 30 days like 2 times. I disputed it because I was not 30 days late. I assume they got the check a day late or something and said 30...
Well after that dispute I ended up with 3 more 30 day lates...
So now I have 5.

In terms of disputes, I say send them all at once. That's just me. Speeds up the process. But some choose to do it slower.
