Do creditors have to report updated info if a setylent agreement is in place?

I have a consent judgement with Synchrony.  I have paid $300 so far to their attorney.  They are reporting the original debt instead of settlement amount. They only reported one payment for Nov but not payments made in Sept and Oct

Shouldn't the reported debt be updated to settlement agreement amount on credit report?

until it's settled in full and the balance is adjusted to 0, no they don't, they can report your payments against the original balance

if you want it to report $0, complete your settlement in full
