In general from all I read I think any lender that you already granted prior access to, to pull your reports can still SP even when they are frozen. Anything after that would be different.

Re: Do frozen CR's prevent soft pull CLI's?

I wanted to test this out with my Amazon Prime account, knowing that TU is currently frozen for me. I called Synchrony Credit Solutions a few minutes ago to request a CLI and was placed on hold for about a minute. When the CSR came back, she asked if my TU report was frozen, which I affirmed. She then informed me that it needed to be unfrozen in order to process a CLI, even if it was a soft pull. I found that strange, but oh well. I decided to keep it on ice anway and revisit a CLI another day. Smiley Happy

This has been my exact experience, and I too have always passed because I don't want to unlock for a while.  To those who are getting Sync to do a SP CLI without unlocking consider yourself lucky because they're pretty set on having me unlock to get any kinda luv...

This is correct...anybody that you are currently married to can take a LOOK at your cookies, think A/R .....

Some lenders just will NOT grant new credit (existing relationship or not) with any type of freeze on as a company policy.

I've worked places where there will be NO APPROVAL with any type of freeze or security alert on a file, period.

If the client took it off fine but no new issuance on a file where there 'COULD' be a possibility later of 'hey my file was frozen...Im going sue' yada yada

some company legal depts. have certain companies scared snitless to the point of CYA to the hilt.

It may be silly but the file is FROZEN and for some lenders that means a good client lawyer has wiggle room in a lawsuit that credit should not have been issued on his clients account, period...

you did see the FREEZE, right? Why did you OPEN new or additional credit in my client's name...when you explicitly saw the freeze, that you agree, you saw?

oh you spoke 'somebody' on the phone that recited 'some' of my client's other personal info they probably stole huh?

that's what you used instead of following my client's explicit desire to have a frozen file?

Well maybe you can find them to pay for these damages...maybe their the same 'real' killers OJ is looking for b/c it doesn't fit my client and you must acquit him/her of liability.

Some legal depts. don't want to answer that question in front of lay ppl in a jury box or a judge that can see the the word frozen.....maybe overkill but everybody has a position on how to conduct their business, same as we choose how to conduct our business, right?

Again different companies different security

with Cap-1 I put in a user name and password

with USAA it's the same + 3 security questions that change every freaking log-in

with my other CU they there is a visual thing you must see then they still send a text code to log-in

Different companies have different hoops...that's life!

When I was a young man....

Some girls met you down to block

Some had mother's that would sneak you in behind Dad's back

Some father's wanted to shake hands, look you in the eye and ask you dumb questions

At 17 my objective was the same fate for every Daddy's little girl once she got into that Camaro Smiley Wink

no matter the security hoops Smiley Wink

(Really only 2 Daddy sit downs...I escaped pretty easily boy I miss that z-28Smiley Wink

If this was your first application with them, that's why. Existing creditors can SP through a freeze.

Alliant will require you to unfreeze for all additional new products, even if you are already a member.  I don't have their credit card, so I cannot tell you if they will SP through a freeze for a CLI on an existing product though.  As others have posted, whether or not companies can do it, doens't mean their company policies or systems will allow them to.
