I just got an alert that a new inquiry was added yesterday from Comcast. I have had their service for years and certainly haven't applied for anything new. I called an account specialist and he said he shows only a soft pull being made. Then he said he could only "compensate" me if it had deducted points from my credit score. Which it hasn't, so far..
So before I call someone else, could this be a soft pull that Score Watch is misinterpreting?
Comcast isnt always truthful. Before i got comast i asked 3 reps if it was soft or hard. They all said soft but sure enough it turned out to be a hard pull. As for comcast pulling your report again, i wouldnt understand why they would do that.

SW doesn't alert for SPs. Call them back and have them remove the inq and ask them to send you written confirmation of the request.
Why are you asking Comcast and not verifying with your report? Go directly to the source.
Shortly after I signed up for Comcast (which was an HP), ScoreWatch told me I had another HP from them. Comcast denied it & Comcast was correct. It was a false report.

You mean call Equifax? Or purchase a report from MyFico? I don't want to spend $15 every time a possible false alert appears. Or is there another way to go to the source?
You can go to Equifax dispute online and file a dispute. It will show your current report at no cost and will allow you to dispute information.

That is common with CMS which usually will adjust itself but is not on your actual CR's. . In this case, the OP had not applied for new service.
