Does a security freeze on EX also freeze EQ and TU? Last night, I placed a security freeze on just my Experian. Afterwards, I called in for a CLI on my Chase Freedom Visa Signature, but got the pending status from the CSR. So this morning, I called the backdoor # to have a credit analyst take a look at it.. Sure enough, my CLI request was pending due to the credit freeze. I thought that they would be able to just pull either EQ or TU, but the credit analyst said he was unable to pull any of my credit reports due to the security freeze. I'm not sure if I just got unlucky and got a credit analyst that didn't know what they were doing or what. Someone please let me know whether or not this is really true. In the meantime, I will be calling all 3 credit bureaus regarding this.
No, putting a security freeze on EX, does not also freeze EQ and TU. Chase normally pulls EX for credit apps and CLIs. So the credit analyst either lied, or is just clueless.

Thanks, that's exactly what I thought! So far, I already confirmed with TU that there's no freeze. Will call EQ now to confirm.
UPDATE: The original Chase credit analyst was incorrect - freezing EX does not automatically freeze EQ and TU.
After confirming with TU that no freeze was on TU (contacting EQ proved difficult), I called a different Chase backdoor # (1-888-245-0625 instead of 1-888-270-2127), and the credit analyst was able to pull either EQ or TU (I chose EQ
). After a few minutes on hold for her to review my Equifax credit report, she came back with an approval for a CLI from 5,700 -> 18k!!!! ![]()

Wow, big congrats to you. Thats a generous CLI.
That's an awesome CLI!! Congrats!!
Thanks for the congrats!! ![]()
My 18k Chase Freedom Visa Signature is now more in line with my other credit cards:
I also have the following LOC's:
I just wanted to also mention that my original CLI request was for a 15k limit, but during my phone call with the second Chase credit analyst, I mentioned that I would like the highest possible CLI which she could approve me for. I'm so grateful for the 18k approval, and my success in avoiding a hard inquiry on Experian!!! ![]()
Congrats! Awesome CL. Do you mind sharing your FICO?

Thanks! Unfortunately, I don't know what my FICO scores are currently. I think all 3 are probably around the high 700's or maybe even 800. In the near future, I plan on applying for the Walmart card and also become a DCU member for TU and EQ FICO's. But first, I want to get a Discover card (waiting for my new 18k limit on Chase Freedom to reflect on my credit reports).
