Does the CRA have to verify PP with Creditors If it is disputed or pp letter sent to CRA

I recently sent a letter to TU asking them to remove several inquiries, that I listed in the letter, due to PP.  I stated what was PP and ask them to remove the inquiries due to there not being PP.  They replied with a letter stating again what PP was, that I need to contact the creditors, and something else creditors did not have to do to pull credit.  I was under the impression that the cra once sent a pp letter would need to verify pp with the creditors and remove listings as necessary?  Is this true... and what should I do?

CRAs are required to receive certification of PP from pullers, but generally when you have an issue with an inquiry, contacting the creditor who pulled it is safer and often has better results than going through the CRA.

So basically are you saying that the CRA receives this certification initially so the CRA will not verify this info... My only option is to contact the creditors... and another question what is my recourse if a response is not given or sufficient proof...(signed contract/recorded call) is not given within what time frame what should i do....

should i send another letter to the cra's stating i have not received info regarding pp from the creditors within a certain ( and what is that time limit ) amount of time? I am new to this whole process of disputing and dealing with the cra's period have a few questions to throw out there...Smiley Happy after reading a few posts.. you seem to be very knowledgable about this subject

Oh! and can I request the CRA's to provide me with proof the certification has been received?

They won't give this information out as a regular course of business.

What's the story with these inquiries?  Are you sure there's no PP?

Re: Does the CRA have to verify PP with Creditors If it is disputed or pp letter sent to CRA

I don't have them in front of me... two of them i requested a copy of my credit and they both showed up as hard pulls... not soft inquiries and i have issues on other reports with citibank and 1st premier... 1st premier keeps sending these approved offers then sends follow up offers I call and ask them since it has been so recent will they  pull my credit again they state that they won't when i call but i seem to get more inquiries for what i beleive was the same offer.... citibank's situation is similar... should i wright letters to the creditors requesting verification of PP or removal of the inquiries and if i do that how long do they have to respond?  are companies generally agreeable with this situation of removing inquiries when there has been this mis-understanding -
and another question that is not totally related... i have an issue with a property that tried to take me thru the eviction process ... tried to get a judgement.. and the courts did not award them ANY MONEY as a part of the judgement. So since they couldn't get a monitary judgement from the courts they have listed it with a collection agency! and have requested triple what they wanted when they tried to get a judgement... which could not be proven in court. I think they are crazy.... i sent a dispute requesting it's removal and a copy of the court papers will this be enough?

Regarding the inquiries...are you absolutely positive those are hard pulls?  What it sounds like you are describing are inquiries that routinely show up in the soft pulls section.  I have NEVER heard of a hard inquiry for pulling one's own report.  We all know it's not supposed to be a hard inquiry; I'm saying I've never even heard of anyone getting it wrong and coding it as hard instead.

I have to ask:  Where did you pull this report that resulted in a hard inquiry?

Regarding the judgment/CA question: Best to post that separately on another thread.

I don't have it in from of me ... both companies were credit repair companies that i guess used another company to pull the credit... one was a local nc man sain enterprises that i pd for a copy of all three bureas... but the credit report has another company listed ... and pulled for sain enterprises... he is a mortgage loan person... the other was a company in california that I was going to use for credit repair... that person pulled it to look at it and see what they would be able to do

This is why they are hard inquiries. YOU did not pull the reports, a company did with YOUR permission. They are PP inquiries.

Re: Does the CRA have to verify PP with Creditors If it is disputed or pp letter sent to CRA

Ok true... but pulling credit for inquiry purpose... does not apply to permissable purpose Section 604 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). [15 U.S.C. § 1681b] ... and can you explain why when i have used other services for the purpose of reviewing credit and that purpose alone... there were only soft pulls not hard inquiries what is the difference if it was requested for the same reason none of which applies to the section 604 of the fcra
