Ok true... but pulling credit for inquiry purpose... does not apply to permissable purpose Section 604 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). [15 U.S.C. § 1681b] ... and can you explain why when i have used other services for the purpose of reviewing credit and that purpose alone... there were only soft pulls not hard inquiries what is the difference if it was requested for the same reason none of which applies to the section 604 of the fcra

Confused as to what you mean there.

As for you using other companies.........if YOU yourself pulls your credit report it does not count. Such as buying it from myFICO, TrueCredit, CreditKeeper, etc...

If you went to a credit repair company or anyother company and allowed THEM to pull your credit and review it you gave PP.

FCRA 604(F)

(F) otherwise has a legitimate business need for the information

(i) in connection with a business transaction that is initiated by the

consumer; or

You initiated a business transaction with that company. The credit repair company is not a re-seller or CRA, therefore you can not purchase your report from them. You can give them permission to review your credit in order to determine if they can help you.

would the op be able to 'sue' for misrepresentation, then? if the op was led to believe only soft pulls would be pulled because they are credit pulls for himself, or the puller misrepresenting himself as an authorized reseller like credit secure or true credit?
