Doesn't authorized user no longer count?

My parents gave me a duplicate card in college just for emergencies and listed me as an authorized user. I'm in no way responsible for the debt, and I've never used the card. As I understand it, the computers were supposed to stop considering authorized user accounts starting in Fall 2007. The Equifax report I got through Scorewatch counted it against me, which increased my debt-to-limit ratio from 5% to 75% and is killing my credit rating (simulator says it drops me by 100 points) just as I'm starting to look for a loan for an engagement ring. I've tried to get my parents to take me off as an authorized user, but they're very slow to act. Does Equifax just use a different variant of the formula, did the change not go through, or is this an error on their part I should bring up with them? Thanks!

The new fico scoring system has not yet been implemented. You can try to call the credit card company yourself and ask to be removed from the account.

Thanks. I've tried, but I haven't gotten all the info I'd need to cancel it from her, and she's being slow doing it herself. Any idea on when this will be implemented? The FAQs in the support section were saying Fall 2007 . . .

File a dispute with all CRAs that are reporting as  * NOT MINE*  they will delete it.......in the mean time  call the CC  and tell them to remove your name  all you need is the account # and your SS#....

Ditto to HappyDays....DW had the same issue his her folks. She had an Universal ATT Citi acct. While it looked good on paper, with no lates, her family consistantly used $6k of the $6.3k in the TL. So, the best she could do utilization-wise was 95%. Although it was her oldest TL, we took the gamble and disputed it also as "not mine" on EX and TU only. Citi took it upon themselves to delete off EQ as well.
