I am so done with Capital One. I have five cards with them and an auto loan and I just can't do them anymore. Their customer service is bad. You can barely understand a word they're saying. They take forever to credit your account even if you pay it online, especially auto loan.
It's been nine days since I sent a check to them to pay off all my accounts with them, including my car loan and they still haven't credited any of those accounts.
I prequalified with them for a auto loan before I went to the dealership and got a decent rate. Then when I get to the dealership and we were getting ready to sign all the finance paperwork, they came back with an extremely high rate. I would not have gone through with the auto loan if it wasn't a bad situation after my daughter had an accident and she needed a car right away, and I was tired by then.
Not crediting accounts in a timely manner is the last straw for me, especially when you try to call them and you get some person who barely speaks English. Accent is so thick that you can barely understand them and then if you have difficulty hearing over your cell phone, it makes it worse. I'm done with Capital One and if it didn't hurt my credit, I would close all my accounts with them.
Useless company, right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing in the auto finance department and good luck getting someone who speaks English as their primary language. I don't mind if people have accents of course but when the accent is so strong and interferes with business, one would think they wouldn't hire the them???

Are you sending a physical check? If so, that explains the delays. I have several Capital One accounts and when I initiate payments from the Capital One app and pull money from my bank, I get instant credit limit updates and the payment clears in 2 days, 3 max. I've never had to call CS so I don't know anything about that. I do understand the offshore/language frustration, I've just never experienced it with Capital One.

I'll also add that I use Capital One 360 banking pretty heavily. I have 6 HYSAs and they have become a game changer for my wife and me regarding budgeting and staying focused. In the travel world, the 360 checking debit card is considered one of if not the best ATM cards to travel with. And it seems I have completely avoided Capital One's bucketed cards. It's amazing how different people's experiences with the same company can be.

Ditto @Varsity_Lu
Paper checks are so 20th century.
I have noticed it takes a day or two for a payment to credit on my savor. Amex is the best there, it's instant.
I like the Capone savings to. Never tried phone help, again, so 20th century.
The only phone help I can recommend is fidelity, they're on the ball.
Bro you send checks? I literally didn't think they made checks anymore. When you pay with 1980's methods you get 1980's responses. 🤷♀️
in terms of the loan it seems like you just have no clue about how dealerships work. If you signed the paperwork at the dealership which is the dumbest thing someone could do then you didn't get the loan directly through capital one. You got it through the dealership who acted as a third party and hiked up the interest rate so they could get a higher kickback.
this all seems like user error not capital one's error.
Oh and the thing about not being to understand them... you just sound like a bigot there. 🤷♀️
Btw, I didn't know Capone had five cards, lol. Sounds like you're in pretty deep with them.
I thought they limited you to 3 cards, but I suppose if you had a Walmart card that got PCd to Quicksilver you could end up with like 2 QSs, a Savor and a Venture variety. Add an REI and Kohl's co-branded cards to the mix and it could happen.

Some of the replies here are odd. I'm bad because I pay money to a company and wish they would have better sounding agents? Really?
Paper checks- didn't have a choice. Normally I pay online if it's any of your business.
Capital One Auto Finance does indeed give one rate and reality is another thing. And as far as me not knowing how dealership works... My precious daughter just had a very serious car accident that morning and we were totally wiped out mentally, emotionally and physically from it but she needed a car by monday for work and I had to leave for home the next day. Before you write your nasty reply, try reading.
Capital One converted a few cards and that is why I have five accounts. Venture X, Savor, QSx3.
And finally, I have two Amex cards, Discover, Chase, Mission Lane, Bonvoy, Citi, and a few others and a never have a problem with posting payments. Discover Bank has some issues with their checking and savings but they've always had great customer service - same with Amex.
From the day we left the dealership the back and forth with Capital One getting their crap together was over a month. I had to speak with multiple reps just to get things resolved.
Im glad you are happing with Capital One!
