I checked my EQ report this morning only to find that my cap one AU tradeline has dissappeared. Its still reporting with EX & TU.
Its a very active account that my wife and I use.
Did EQ do this, if so why?
Did cap one do it?
Could I possibly have a split file?
I'm not sure what to do. I know that if I call cap one, I'll get a rep whose clueless about credit reporting. If I call EQ they'll tell me to contact the creditor.
What would you do?
I'd wait a month before doing anything to see if it'll either fall off the other two. I'd also wait beyond the next statement date to see how or if it updates.
I'm still freaked out. The account updated on TU & EX for this month but still not show on EQ.
Unfortunately EQ is horrible in not reporting AU accounts, I have read other threads on this forum with other members having this same problem also with other different credit accounts as well
The same thing happened to me. EQ and TU both dropped it a year ago. EX is still reporting it. I have absolutely no idea why. Only thing was C1 spelled my name wrong by one letter on the card, so maybe the bureaus dumped it for that reason, but I am not for sure.
Does anyone have an AU account reported by EQ?
DW and I are AU on each other's accounts (4) but recently I realize that EQ is the only bureau that doesn't report them.
I had a Capital One account I was an AU on. It did report for a month. So did TU and EX. Then suddenly TU and EQ dropped it one month. One thing I do know is that my sister had spelled my name wrong on the card, so maybe EQ and TU kicked the account back out because the name didn't match? I guess I'll never know. I took myself off the account but EX is the only one that continued to report it despite the name being misspelled.
So I do know for a fact that Equifax reports Capital One.

My former AU account on DXH's Discover card still reports to all three, even though I'm off the card. (In fact, EX still reports changing balances on it, which can be a bit maddening.)
But I believe you --as someone else mentioned, many other posters have reported that EQ is no longer listing their AU accounts. I'm a bit curious as to whether that is legal. It's one thing for a lender to decide to ignore AU accounts when considering an application for credit --that's completely within their rights. But unless something has changed in the laws regarding credit reports, I think they're supposed to be on there.
I think. Happily, I'm not an attorney.
Hauling,
Thanks for chiming in. I know for a fact that EQ is doing this purposefully.
My wife is an AU on all my accounts and all of them are being reported by EQ on her CR.
For some reason they don't report AUs on my CR even though DW and I both live together at the same address.
If this is there way of combating piggybacking, they missed the mark big time ! I'm so disappointed.
I'm not sure what to do, but you're right this doesn't feel right.
Hi Aim720, I think your right about something not right with EQ, Like you, I believe they purposely delete accounts on peoples reports. I didn't have any AU's on mine but they deleted all my good standing accounts and cut my length of credit history in half, tell me that's right. I called them on it and they said the same thing, call the OC's, they requested it be removed. well, i did call the OC's all 3 of them and none sent any requests to delete my accounts. It seems pretty coincidental that three seperate companies called on the same day to have all my good accounts deleted, I don't believe anything EQ says. I wish you the best of luck dealing with them if you do.
