My Experian report was supposed to be fully clean by this November.
I called Experian this morning and they added time to the removal dates!
Barclay's Bank Delaware- opened 2014, was supposed to be removed Nov 2021, representative said first late happened Nov 2018, so I have to wait until 2025 for removal. Is this correct? Another five years? ![]()
Another account, same story; opened 2014, first time late April 2015; representative said will be removed April 2022.
I also have several Portfolio Recovery accounts; they all would be gone by this November according to a printed report from earlier in the year; representative said no removal until Feb 2023.
Why is my removal date being extended for years? Is there anything I can do?

Open date DOESN'T MATTER, the date you need to know (and didn't list) is the Date Of First Default (DOFD), the definition of that is the date the account went delinquent and was not brought current again
For example if you were late then brought the account current then defaulted on the account completely that first late is not your DOFD.
All the defaults occurred late October 2014. I hope the representative misread the report, because nearly five years has been added to the removal date.
If you were late Nov 2018 on an account, you'd expect that negative item to remain for 7 years... so 2025 sounds correct to me. I don't think there is any misreading going on, as it's pretty cut and dry.
They made a mistake. All accounts will be removed by September. The representative misread the information.
Whew, that's great news. Sorry you had to panic a bit.
