EX FICO?

Is it true that there is NOWHERE that you can get your Experian FICO score anymore? even if you pay for it? and what is a "Plus" Score?

Re: EX FICO?

You can still get your EX FICO score from any mortgage lender, but that would cost an inquiry. You can get your EX FICO score from PSECU, which is a CU in PA. Membership appears limited to PA residents.

Re: EX FICO?

Forgot to comment on the PLUS score. A PLUS score is EX's own score. I think the scale goes from 300 or 350 to 830. It tries to mimic FICO but I think it excludes AUs, factors CAs into your history, seems to count utilization less, and CA damage is much less. Of course, lenders don't use it anyway. Terrible predictor of credit worthiness, IMO.

Re: EX FICO?

well that's terribly disappointing news Smiley Sad why did they decide to do that? it seems unfair, cause if you're trying to get a loan don't they consider all three scores? (the average or something?) how are you supposed to know what that is without access to the EX score.

Re: EX FICO?

You can still get your EX FICO from your lender at the time of applying, just not before, unfortunately. Usually for a mortgage, the lender look at the lower of the two middle scores if applying jointly.

EX's decision was economic on their part. They put a ton of money into the VantageScore as well as their PLUS score. Everytime consumers and lenders use a FICO score then that takes away from their business and their chance to convince lenders to use the PLUS score exclusively.

Re: EX FICO?

Doesn't make me any happier about it (lol) because as far as I can tell, whether or not EX wants lenders to use "PLUS" scores, they seem to exclusively use the FICO scores, and now we wont really know what that score is until we're going to get the mortgage in the fall, would just be nice to know *beforehand*. oh well I guess.
