The news of this breach is very disconcerting.
What is the best ID Theft service to employ? (I know equifax is giving it for free, but not until the 13th of this month and I am not interested in waiting).
Anyone have an opinion on myfico ID theft product?
Or any other suggestions?
Thanks and good luck to all.
Equifax is offering free monitoring for one year. You just have to enroll in it via this link -
Thank you. However Equifax free ID monitoring won't begin until Sept 13th. A lot of damage can be done between now and then.
Has anyone used my fico ID theft product? Is it any good?
Or any other suggestions?

See your concern but be aware, the Equifax Data Breach started back in May 2017 and has been on their radar for some time. It seems the only thing we don't get is prompt notification when data breaches take place. Think back to how long Target Corp waited before we heard word one on their major breach. Depressing to say the least.

Actually their free monitoring start date varries. I got a date of 9/12 and my wife got a date of 9/11. Not sure how they determine the date but I am guessing that with the number of people effected they are trying to spread it out.
It might be better put a credit freeze......although the hack was months ago.

Think twice about using Credit Monitoring thru a company that cannot even monitor their own security. I am going to do a Initial Fraud Alert and will probably freeze my EQ. And if I freeze my EQ i will do it over the phone. Why would I trust their website????

With the third-party CSR's you're likely to reach, I'm guessing that they're just using the website anyway. There's no reason to be more concerned about freezing EQ than EX or TU though...

Be aware that by agreeing to the terms of service is the Equifax monitoring solution you are agreeing not to participate in any class action lawsuit against them relating to the beach.
You keep repeating that, and at this point it is mis-information.
