Good morning everyone!
I would like to know how should I go about removing a fraud alert that I placed on my Equifax credit file? I'm moving and the utility company isn't able to pull my credit so that I can establish service at my new place because of the alert.
A written request is required to remove a fraud alert on your CR.
You may write to EQ Customer Service at the following address:
Equifax Information Services LLC
PO Box 105069
Atlanta, GA 30348-5069
Be sure to include your full name, social security number, current and previous addresses, date of birth, and telephone number.

Thanks for that information. I sent the letter off yesterday via USPS First Class, hopefully it is received by the end of the week and in time for me to be able to start new electric service at my new place by the end of the month.

Call them.
They will give you a fax number to which you'll have to fax in two or three forms of ID. A couple of days after that the FA will disappear.

You can get it from their website.
The number changes monthly and you must have a confirmation # from a recently pulled EQ report to use the phone dispute process.

I wasn't able to find the fax number on their website. I do have a confirmation number from my recent dispute and I did not see a fax number on the result page(s), only a contact number and mailing address.

The process works like this:
1. Call and initiate a dispute;
2. If they require ID, they will give you a fax number to fax the ID to.
The number changes monthly so the only way to get it is by calling them.
I was able to speak with a live person this morning and was given the fax number. If anyone else is looking for this month's fax number so to say, it's: 1-888-826-0573.
