Equifax alert up today from 570 to 602 exstatic and completely mad...

Wow I am elated and want to thank you guys here for teaching me about
the power of disputes 32 points today....
DW'S bad CC removed from my score and the CA with it also...

Bad news is NCO is completely out of line here, I got an agreement to settle
a Cap-1 CO from 1316$ down to 1000$ in  a telephone conversation on the 5th
of this month, I paid it then and there...
The EQ report updated today shows a new balance of 348$ owed on account
wich means they paid 1,000 towards the bill and I still owe 348 wich I am guesing
is the new amount with interest..
348 Bad debt/collection $348

My scores went up from the combined CC/CA dropping off and the Utilization going down from
2,926$  to 903$ on 2 accounts that are paid off....

just FYI....I did a settlement with Cap One also, and  it will show just that on your credit report..."SETTLEMENT" which means you did not pay in full and your account will still stay under the derogatory catagory on your credit report. I am now trying to see if they will allow me to pay the difference and remove the settlement off my reports.

Good job on the other.............nice score jump!!!

I settled with the CA wich is NCO financial and I think they didn't honor the
agreement but I will wait and see if the other reports update in the near future
and see what they have on my reports...

OOPS...didn't clarify myself....I settled with a collection company also. (Assets or something like that), although it NEVER appeared on my credit report as a collection item. The settlement is reported on my Capital One TL,  and my Capital One is reporting under Adverse Accounts on one report, and under credit accounts on another report. Go figure

Re: Equifax alert up today from 570 to 602 exstatic and completely mad...

Ya I'm perplexed because my initial report has CAP-1 at a derogatory balance of 1316$

Balance [?] Current Status [?] Past Due Amount [?]
   $1316     Bad debt/collection      $1316

Then I settle with the creditor for 1000$ and dispute the CR's..
now I get the updated scores and Cap-1 says

Balance [?] Current Status [?] Past Due Amount [?]
    $348     Bad debt/collection        $348
