Almost 4 weeks after TU and EX cleared up the errors I disputed, my Equifax is finally squeaky clean as well..... Except for that it's too clean, they deleted TWO positive tradelines, LOL. Have to call and do an anti-dispute? Sheesh
A creditor can always, at any time, choose to delete their entire account with any CRA.
It is likely that the deletion was reported by the creditor and not done by the CRA.
A creditor may have good business reason to delete an entire account.
Deletion will remove any future need to investigate and repond to any disputes filed by a consumer.
It also removes any need to monitor accounts for any required updates should their prior reporting no longer reflect the current accuracy of the information.
You always take the chance when communicating with a creditor regarding an account that they may choose to delete the account in its entirety.

Possibly, but it has not been deleted on my experian or transunion. One of the positive tradelines that dissapeared was my main Capital One QS account, as well as a BofA AU account. Both of which are still active and showing on my other reports. I guess it's possible, but it happened at the same exact time EQ deleted the negatives I was disputing, I think they just got mixed up.
Thank you for sharing that possibility though, had no idea that was a thing. If it is in fact the case then at least I have a heads up.
Update: Called equifax. They were very confused. I guess with big data moving aorund it's easy to get mixed up. I disputed an OLD cap1 account from years ago, they (equifax) for some reason, said I disputed both capital one accounts. Comepletely incorrect, I have a copy of the dispute I sent off. They also said capital one sent them info that my account was supposed to be removed. Also completely incorrect. I got a letter from cpaital one stating my (current account, verified the acct #) was reported as disputed by the credit bureau but was NOT found to be a result of fradulent activity. It's the same letter they sent the credit burueas, according to the Capital one rep. I faxed this document to EQ along with a letter asking them to correct the issue.
Anywho is, moral of the story if you're disputing an old account, with the same creditor as an open account, it's possible the credit bureau will mix up which is which.
did you get the positive lines added back to your report? i dsiputed a hard inquiry by wayfair with comenity bank as being unauthorized. equifax removed the inquiry, but also deleted my victoria secret and pier one tradelines that are current and active i guess because they are comenity bank cards too. i am hoping when the next cycle of credit reporting goes to equifax, it will add those back on..
