My Equifax score is 594 my Trans Union score is 695, why is there such a vast difference? Both reports have the same information and the same delinquencies I've paid off and about 2K left in the last three payments I need to pay off. Also, there is a 3rd score, correct? How do I obtain this score on this site.
Thanks!
The third score, from EX, is no longer available for the consumer to purchase, anywhere. Only creditors and lenders can get them.
Is there a difference in credit history, AAoA? Maybe one is showing a late payment the other isn't.
Sorry, I am not much help without actually seeing the reports.
Glad you could get your TU score
Did you buy your scores here at myfico? As guiness said no one has been able to pull their own Experian FICO score since February of 2009. Creditors can pull Experian and also there is a CU in Pennsylvania that supplies that information to it's members only. You can only buy true FICO scores at a few places. One place is here at myfico. I suggest you do an internet search for "myfico discount codes" to save a little money. You can also purchase your Equifax score at www.equifax.com (If you look hard enough) and your Transunion score at www.transunioncs.com.
Have you pulled your free reports from annualcreditreport.com? They will have more information than reports pulled from third party sites. It seems like something major has to be different between the reports but only you can see them and compare closely. Hopefully you'll find the answer. There is a 28 point difference between my TU and EQ scores but that's because the information on the 2 reports is not exactly the same.

Whats In Your FICO Score
To be honest, I really can't tell the difference, other than on my TU report it says that my student loan is late when it is actually in deferrment while they approve my income sensitive repayment app, but the TU is the higher score. Both have the 4 balances that I need to pay off, which total about 2K. So that is my goal for the summer is to rid myself of those balances. I will be back in school full time in Jan. 2011 and I want a clear credit report before then!
My next question is this, 2 of the balances are from Columbia House, I've contacted Columbia House to satisfy these debts, but they keep asking me for an account number, which I don't have because these accounts are from when I was in college 8 years ago. I can not find the collection agency to contact and don't know where to go from there, any advice?
Also, about one month ago, I was approved for a Capital One Platnium Student Card with a limit of $500, I received notifcation that Captial One made an inquiry on my Equifax report, but as of now, the Captial One account has not been posted on my credit report. I paid my first bill in full yesterday. When should I expect my Capital One account to finally appear on my credit report.
Thanks for this information, I was able to go to the free credit report site and get my experian information, everything says the same...ko-sher!
I see the difference, a few years ago I closed my Time Warner Cable account and didn't return the equipment until late. They reported me to the credit bureau for it, but once the equipment was returned, it was marked as paid on my TU and Experian reports, on Equifax, it still says unpaid, although I have filed 4 disputes to equifax about this account. Each time, the report comes back as saying they contacted TWC and the account is mine, which is what I'm not disputing, I've been disputing that I need to pay the $625 for the equipment that was turned in years ago. I called TWC to verify that I have no balance other than my monthly balance and that is all they have on file for me...any advice?
I also want to say I like your avatar, my father is a retired Marine and Vietnam vet...Semper Fi!

I'm not sure what you're saying here. Was a late payment reported for this account? Or was it charged off or go to collections? A CO or collection will hurt the same whether paid or unpaid. I'm sorry I'm confused.
Tell your dad I'm glad he made it home!!!! SEMPER FI!!!!!
Had I not turned in the equipment, I would have had to pay the amount of $625, but since I turned in the equipment, on my TU and Experian, the account is marked as paid and unpaid on equifax. It went to collections on all 3. Sorry for the confusion. I know it doesn't look good regardless, but I really would like for Equifax to realize there is nothing to be paid and the equipment was turned in...this all occured in 2007.

I don't blame you for wanting EQ to get this straight but you also need to know that the collections are your biggest concern. They are hurting you the same whether they are paid or unpaid. You need to focus on getting these removed early. Collections are a major derogatory.
Since they are paid all you can do is start writing goodwill letters in an attempt to get the negative entries (not the entire account) taken off. GW's can and do work but sometimes take awhile but you can't get what you don't ask for.

What exactly do I put in a goodwill letter? WOuld I explain that since my account is paid in full, I would like to know if I can have the entry removed off of my credit report? I write these to the creditor, correct? If it is approved, will these increase my score and how will it be listed on my reports.
