I have seen several threads on the many and seemingly never ending issues with equifax. I had a lender tell me they weren't able to pull my equifax credit report due to a freeze. I have not placed a freeze. On my equifax account it verifies that there is no freeze. I tried to call to get resolution to this issue abd they asked me (like the have with others before) security questions that did not pertain to me. Because I couldn't correctly sender questions that have nothing to do with me the would not connect me to a agent? These credit bureau has caused people to miss out on buying homes, cara and now in my case a loan for medical cost. Can anyone help at all? Have any suggestions? There was no issue until now? I don't understand why anyone that has so many errors and past issues is still able to be involved with anyone's credit.
EQ is known to have whats called a split file on people. Happened to me a few years ago. Split files, which are also called “fragmented” and “duplicated” files which occur when information about one person gets spread out over two or more credit reports. Due to splitting, consumers may end up with more than one credit report from the same bureau, as well as more than one credit score (neither of which is truly accurate).
Pull your reports from all three bureaus to verify that one of the bureaus is reporting your information incorrectly. Probably EQ. Old information might not appear on your credit reports, so comparing between bureaus can help you make sure that you’re dealing with an actual split file.
did you ever get the freeze off?
