Est. Date Removal

  • On my TU report I have an est. date of 02/2008 for a student loan to be removed, how accurate is the date?
  • Will it be for the other 2 or only TU?

Re: Est. Date Removal

TU will delete this in Feb if you do not touch it-

If the data is the same on all 3 they should all delete in Feb

In my experiance they all seem to delete on different months-

Re: Est. Date Removal

Keep an eye on it. More than a few folks report the CRAs failing to delete adverse TLs on or after the dates they should be deleted or the dates the CRAs claim the TL will be deleted.

Re: Est. Date Removal

I have a question along these lines...

I have some collections, etc on my EQ and they have no DOFD or DOLA listed. It often says "N/A". If the other 2 CBA's say they are going to drop on x/20xx date, can you assume that EQ will drop around the same time +/- a month or two?

Re: Est. Date Removal

What happens if Credit agengies do not drop the record even though I have a report here 6 months ago that reads it should've dropped? Can they actually change the date of removal or anything else?

Thanks

Re: Est. Date Removal

IF have disputed the account AND they changed the removal date-

Then it will not drop per the date on the old report-
If you have not disputed it and it should have dropped- Dispute as too old to report-

On a side note- I have a few TL's tht were put in a positive stauts after a dispute, these would have dropped- but now (after 7 years) are listed as positive/never late.

If it doesn't drop, and it should, whether they have the correct removal date or not, dispute it as too old to report.

If they change the date of removal, then they are violating the law by re-aging the account. The CRAs are required to store the DOFD. DOFD is set in stone, it cannot be altered, and things drop based on the DOFD. If you have paper copies showing one date to remove, and then another, it's reasonable good evidence they are diddling with the dates and violating FCRA. Time to chat with a consumer lawyer.
