Re: Signed up for Experian Boost

While I would always advise caution with handing any info out, if a person get a small boost and avoid predatory lenders by gaining 10 points, or get better interest rate loans wise,  I think it's a fair trade. It can be revoked at any time.

Besides, I am pretty sure CRAs have that info, one way or another. A few secondary bureaus have my estimated income within a few thousands, which is a pretty small margin of error.

We've handed all of our info , freely or not, long time ago.

OP, when you no longer need this boost, revoke it. In the meanwhile, I hope it helps.

Re: Signed up for Experian Boost

Titanup has a valid plan up above. Opening a dedicated account to only pay those extras that Boost watches would allow one to gain the points without an open barn door into personal finances for the bureaus to waltz through.

It boosted my score by 11 points but I regret it!! Will they monitor my bank account from now on or was it a one time check? How do I cancel?

Re: Help, did experian boost can I cancel? Regret

Good question. I know that you were required to opt in if you were interested. But I'm not sure about opting out once you've opened that flood gate. Check with the original agency that you opted in with.
That's all I've got.
I'm sure someone else will chime in. It's all pretty new.

It's "suppose to be a secured method" but of course in life we know that nothing is full proof.

This being said, if you feel uncomfortable with it, you can always opt out. Just sign into experian and go to your account and cancel it. I actually tried it for 24 hrs just out of curiosity and then removed it. I've had no issues since.

Re: Help, did experian boost can I cancel? Regret

It raised it by 10 points . But it’s not worth it. I don’t want experian having access to my bank account. I’m over 700 anyways . I’ll do rebuilding another way. I need about 30 more point by next feb . Applying for a home loan

Yes, you can "turn it off" at any time.
