Re: Experian Boost - Bank Access?

I did it. Score went up 10 points.

The way I see it is, if Experian is secure enough to have most of the country's credit reports on file, a bank account isn't more than a drop in a lake. If you need the bump in the score, it'll definitely do it!

@hagsaeng

Same here, bumped EX 19 points. I also share your view- somewhat feel as others might feed into a little paranoia. Almost 100% of past hard pulls for myself have either involved or been exclusive to EX.

Re: Experian Boost - Bank Access?

They have enough data of ours to need our bank info too. I know some people need it but ill pass on 20 points. If i cant get approved off my credit alone so be it.

Re: Experian Boost - Bank Access?

I pay my bills with a credit card so it wouldn’t work for me regardless but I won’t ever be giving credit bureaus access to my bank accounts.

Re: Experian Boost - Bank Access?

You know I’ve got a really good idea for this Boost crap. Why don’t they do it like everything else? Have the utility or phone company report to CRA, because you’re not getting access to my bank account. Or, is the problem that the utility companies and phone companies do not want to pay for the subscription service to the CRA‘s?

So that leaves them to come to us to talk to us and talk us into getting access to that same data for free since the utility companies will not pay them to provide it to them. LOL. Well I’m not going to pay them to provide it to them and I’m not going to provide it to them for free either.

Re: Experian Boost ---- Thoughts

Dont have to go 25 months without applying for credit card s. Inquiries only stay on your credit report for up to 2 years but only negatively impact your score for up to one year.

Re: Experian Boost ---- Thoughts

Steven07, this is correct but going the extra year boosts your age factors that much more. It helps AAoA, AoYA, and AoOA, quite possibly allowing one or more of these to pass through another scoring threshold and boost one’s score even more.
