Experian Deleted BoA Charge-Off

Greetings myFICO Community . . . I received great news today from Experian’s Special Services Department Supervisor . . . My BoA charge off totaling $429.00 was scheduled to purge in December 2022 was deleted today, May 15, 2021. On 4/29/2021, TransUnion deleted the adverse trade line and my credit score decreased 9 points. Two clean reports now and one to go . . . I am so grateful for the deletions as BoA was the only adverse reporting on all three CRAs. I am going to keep hammering this issue with Equifax’s corporate office and hope for the same results. I’m not sure of the impact on my credit score but at least two of my reports are no longer “dirty”. Thanks to this awesome community, I have learned to keep fighting for your desired results . . . it may not happen overnight but when it does happen . . . celebrate -and- keep a clean report going forward!!!

@spiritcraft1 Experian's Consumer Affairs ~ Special Handling Department is an extension of the Executive Office and handles specific complaints. I am 100% satisfied with their services since E-mailing the Executive Vice President a couple of years ago.

What did you say to get Experian to delete it? What did you previously send to the Executive office that provided good results, was it the same matter or different?

What did you say to get Experian to delete it?

• I very nicely explained to the Supervisor that BoA had originally reflected the CO date as 2/2016 and when I disputed the CO in 1/2019; BoA changed the 2/2016 date to reflect as current and 3/2016 reflected as CO. BoA attempted to restart the DoFD which meant the CO would have remained on my file longer.

What did you previously send to the Executive office that provided good results, was it the same matter or different?

• I actually use the "free" subscription to all 3 CRAs and download (pdf) my credit report monthly. I uploaded the pdf copy of my credit report and Experian confirmed BoA's actions and deleted the CO.
• I did the exact same steps for TransUnion and received the same satisfactory "deletion" result.
• I am still working on Equifax as BoA is the only adverse item on my file.
