Experian can't / won't get it right...what to do?

The credit union I had most of my loans with for a few years used the member number and added a 2 digit suffix to the member number for individual account numbers.

For example:

Member # = 12345

Checking acct # 12345-01

Savings acct # 12345-02

Car loan acct # 12345-04

Mortgage acct # 12345-05

The problem is 2 of my loans were included in a 2004 chapter 7 BK, but all the loans are showing as included in bankruptcy with an account # of 1234XXXX. I've contacted Experian and the credit union multiple times and Experian just can't get it right; Equifax and Transunion are reporting correctly. The credit union has sent me a letter stating they are reporting the loans (prior to BK) as paid as agreed never late.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with Experian?

Any ideas on how to resolve this? I sent a copy of the letter I received from the credit union along with my theory of Experian dropping the last 4 digits of acct number being the culprit.

Re: Experian can't / won't get it right...what to do?

Experian can't get anything right. I have no issues with Transunion and Equifax. In fact I recently saw that I had a negative account that had served its 7 year term and I wrote a letter to Transunion and Equifax to and they did. Experian is telling me that the 7 years isn't up for another year. Not only do they show that for that account but for another account as well.

They are totally useless! I also wrote in telling them that my personal information was incorrect and they wrote back to me and told me that they verfied the information and that the information they had reporting was correct and they were not going to fix it. WTF!!!!!! How are you going to verify personal information with someone else? Its my information and I'm telling you it's wrong. IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep. Me too. Having trouble getting a CU Visa card reported with the correct limit. EX is showing my limit as $167, when it is actually $5000. The $167 was actually my previous high balance on the card, even though it has never actually REPORTED a balance that I am aware of, because I pay it off as soon as it posts to my account, usually the next day or two. EQ and TU have always reported correctly. I contacted my CU and they said they have sent an update to EX, and it should now report correctly but to wait a few days before checking it. I'm going to check CreditcheckTotal in a few days to see.......stay tuned.

Looks like sending a copy of the letter I received from the credit union did the trick; the accounts are now showing "paid satisfactorily." :smileyvery-happy::smileyhappy::smileyvery-happy:
