Inquiries aren't bad at all. If they are valid, I would leave them. If they are there because of some other reason like ID theft, then I'd be more concerned.
Score-wise, inquiries only have an impact for one year. In the lender's eyes, they typically have an impact for the first 6 months.
I have 28 inquiries on EX, for example and 15 on EQ. Concorduser, a poster in these forums, must have at least 100 by now on EX. I'm exaggerating, but it is at least 40-50. In my case, I haven't been turned down for credit due to inquiries in my past 15 applications, or so, or at least they never said that it was a factor. Of the past 10 apps, there was no change at all to my score after adding an inquiry.
