Experts - help please

Hi All ~
All of the debts on my CR occurred in Florida so I know my SOL's are for FL - I have since moved to NC. I have not had any ca send me anything/contact me in NC. (I didn't leave a forwarding address) If I send them a DV (because I just recently pulled my credit)do I go by if they can collect the debt in FL or in NC? 2 of the CA's registration ran out in FL however they are registered with NC.

Any assistance ~ would be great!

Re: Experts - help please

No expert here, but Florida is one of those states that does tolling.

You may want to check into that.

Hope it helps!

Re: Experts - help please

This is tricky........because you moved out of Fl. The Fl  SOL  stops & will restart IF you ever move back.    BUT  N.C. SOL is good

A creditor can use either SOL   I would use the NC  SOL    open accounts is better  3 years.  They can not sue you in NC  with Fl  SOL.  But if you move back to Fl   they can.

Also check both states and see if the CA is licensed    If not in Fl   they are trying to collect illegally anyway
