Re: FAKO vs. FICO

They are generally higher or lower, but you can't predict FICOs based on them.

My FAKOs are lower than my FICOs. Spouse's FAKOs are higher than FICOs.

Re: FAKO vs. FICO

There is NO relationship between the two. None. Nada. Zero.

The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: FAKO vs. FICO

The formulas and scales used by FICO and non-FICO scores are different. There's no converting between the two; it's not a Fahrenheit vs. Celsius-type scenario.

I would say that non-FICO (aka "FAKO") scores do have some use as a "canary in the coal mine," in that if all of a sudden your FAKOs take a major plunge (over 25 points in a day), it may mean something bad just landed on your credit report. But even in this case I've seen some posts around here reporting such drops that turned out to be caused by...sunspots? So even that can't be taken for granted, apparently.

Re: FAKO vs. FICO

I just had a CA (Bureau of Collection Recovery) added onto EX and EQ this week Smiley Sad   .

TC EX - Down 48
CCT EX - Down 63
FICO EX - Down 14

TC EQ - Down 0 (TC doesn't seem to update scores too often, maybe 2 times per month for myself)
CCT EQ - Down 16
FICO EQ - Down 18

As you can see, there is no clear pattern to the drop. Remember, each score formula (PLUS, Vantage, FICO, etc.) uses a different scale which impacts the change in addition to the content of the formula.

BTW, this is a DOFD of 4 yrs ago and my second CA. It is also my first added derog since starting this process a year ago.

Re: FAKO vs. FICO

And sometimes.... there is absolutly NO relationship to a major change in FAKO.  My CCT for EQ has been 603 for a couple months now with my FICO at 689 with no real movement in either score.  Two days ago my CCT for EQ jumped to 711.  I thought WOW a 108 point jump, let me feed the FICO monster and see a big jump.  $10.95 later my EQ FICO is still 689 Smiley Sad.  Lesson learned... FAKO scores are useless.
