FAKO vs FICO

Hello everyone! I'm new here, I finally broke down and signed up for myFICO and I am glad that I did. I've been using subscriptions for experian.com and also from transunion.com.

As of today my creditexpert (not really an expert at all really!!!) was 696 for experian. Kind of exciting but way off.

As of today my truecredit scores were as follows:

TU 611
EX 626
EQ 588

Close but here are my real FICOs as of 8/18/07:

TU 633
EX 616
EQ 625

It's nice to see that my FICOs aren't horrible. Most of it is due to high utilization and a short credit history as I am only 21 years old.

Just felt like sharing, it's nice to be part of the community.

Welcome to the forum and the 600 club.  I think it's great that you are so concerned about your credit at 21.  You are on the right track.  Good luck.Smiley Wink

Welcome!  It's nice to have a young person in the mix taking an interest in his/her credit status.  Your scores are not bad at all. Just you wait and see what you can do to increase your scores as you learn from the many knowledgeable people in the forum.  Welcome again!

Re: FAKO vs FICO

Thanks for the reply and encouragement.

I'm not sure why I'm so concerned with credit, probably because I don't want to be in debt and I would like to save money. I screwed up with that part though. My school loans are killing me, especially cause I never graduated and I can't consolidate them. I'm hoping to get somewhere in the 700 club next year (FICO simulator said possible!) so that I may be able to get a personal loan at a better rate than my crappy 16.25% on one of my loans. I'm even considering getting a large CL somewhere, cash advance it, and then BT it. Kinda sad actually.

My next step is to join a credit union. Probably Penfed and/or there is a community charter where I live that offers nice rates. I just need to raise my FICOs!!!

After that I need to go back to school.
