score to remain exactly the same after a 4 yr old CO (incorrect DOFD) was removed? I pulled TU march 30th; a 711, then again today, my score is still 711! I"ve made two car payments since then, but looks like the April one reported on my current report. Nothing else changed-zero utility. Anyone have the same or similar experience? Does MYFICO not update scores quickly enough? That has always been one of my frustrations...
Several questions.
You had a CO reported, and apparently "removed." Why was it removed at only 4 years? That is not typical.
If the DOFD was incorrect, and updated, did this actually put the CO beyond 7 1/2 years from the DOFD on the OC account?
MyFICO does not update anything in your CR. They only score what is in there, they dont control what is in there.
Only the CRA updates your CR.
So I dont understand what happened,,.............
Robert: The DOFD was not only incorrect, but illegal. I have evidence of the DOFD in question going as far back as Sep 2003, but was likely some time in 2002, which technically should put it past SOL. I sent data to HSBC showing them an old Experian credit report and a bill dating to 2004 which showed the account well past due. Additionally, the account was sold in 2006, which would have made a DOFD of 10/2006 impossible, and illegal. The debt was paid, but someone must have erred or thought they were being cute. The account was opened in 2000, so perhaps average age was lost, but the account dropping off equalized things. Strange...
BTW, the Experian report from 2007 showed a DOFD of Sep 2003, but went back no further...
