False Inquiries - how to remove?

Hello, I have several hard inquiries from almost a year ago for auto financing. The thing is, I haven't had a license in maybe three years and have no desire for a car. So I'm thinking I was pre-approved or something, but they did a hard inq instead.

So if I contact the finance companies, will they remove the inquiries? Or do I need to do something special? I wrote a dispute letter to EQ, but that could take a while. Suggestions on how to fix this??

Thanks!!!!

Did you fill out any type of Credit app??   Online or at a dealer??? If you didn't you can write to whoever is listed on your CR and ask what was their PP for pulling your reports. CRA's will not delete unless requested by entity that originally requested the reports.

Nope, no credit apps on my end, that's why I'm thinking pre-approval or something. There are tons of car places around here, so I'll write the people who did the pulls and ask. If I can get rid of these, it would take at least 5 inqs off my CR.

Thanks, Gator.

I would let them know you ITS if tehy have no permissible purpose. You can sue for up to $2500.00 per unauthorized occurance. Depends on state you live in.  Make it clear in your letter you are aware of this law. You can check your state statutes. I also think their is a thread with various states info on the forum. I'll see if I can find it and send via PM.  Send your letter CMRRR. Keep copies of CR and all Info.
