Filing A Dispute for Balance Update

My Barclay credit card statement end date was July 24th. My TU and Equifax report was updated on July 28th with my statement balance of $0 but Experian has not. Usually Experian updates first. When I called them they said they have not received an update from Barclay since June. No updates this month. Barclay is stating they sent an update on July 24th to all three CBs. At this point, should I just file a dispute to have my balance updated? I am trying to get as close to AZEO to move my mortgage score to put in my app. I had a $481 balance and paid it down to $0 and really need the update. I just feel like something should have happened by now.

Re: Filing A Dispute for Balance Update

I would call Barclays again and ask them if they can push another update to Experian. Disputes can take a while to process and are annoying to deal with. Some mortgage lenders will not process your application if there is an open dispute on your file.

I wouldn't. Not good to poke bears. And I would not expect the dispute to get you anything.

Barclays is an out of country bank that has a US office to issue credit cards and banking products, they are sometimes slow in getting things done. In the credit world 90 days is considered current its a hold over from when creditors would only report to the CRAs once every 3 months.

Excellent observation, I use a Priceline card issued by Barclays for business travels, the hotel rewards are good.  Maybe once or twice a year, Barc goofs, and if that happens to be on a month I want it at zero, I lose a few points.

The crazy thing is transunion and Equifax updated on 7/28 but not Experian. So strange. I called Barclay yesterday and asked if they can resend the update. They said no and I should wait until another business day Monday and call them back if it does not update by then.

Re: Filing A Dispute for Balance Update

Same for me! My Barclay July balance did not update in EX, but did in my EQ and TU file
