I am gardening. Thank you and be safe.

Re: Fingerhut

Depends on how old the account is. I would make a small purchase and pay it off quickly. That way the account will stay open. It does not hurt to keep it open since there is no AF on the card.

You can close it if you no longer have a need for it.  Otherwise, you'd have to purchase something that may not be of necessity just to keep the account open, not just today but going forward to keep it active.

Something to keep in mind, a closed account remains on your CRs for up to ~10 years and is still factored into your AAoA until the account drops off.

Re: Fingerhut

It sounds like you have a good mix of cards without the Fingerhut account.  If you don't want to put any spend on it to maintain it, you would be best off closing it yourself.  Some creditors hold accounts that are closed by grantors against you.  You will have the positive history for 10 years regardless.

Re: Fingerhut

Longer credit history is usually better for your credit. In general, lenders like to see that you have a track record of managing credit effectively over time. With that been said I closed my Fingerhut card two yrs ago because I financially outgrew the benefits.  I have other cards that were of the same age. I did the same thing with a capital one card because my credit limit was stuck on 1500.

Imo If it's not your oldest card, and you have no use for it I would close it.
