First success in sight! Yeah! US Dept of Ed to delete lates!

I got a call from the US Department of Education today in response to a GW letter.
They asked me to fax them the portion of my CRs that show the lates and that they would be happy to delete them. How cool is that!

I refinanced my two student loans and have been making regular payments with no lates since 2005. The loans have always been with Direct Loan Servicing.

I have several GWs, DVs disputes etc out and this is the first positive response. I am stoked! I have a long way to go but now I have taken my first step and feel like I have somewhat of a foothold.

Could you please post the address to which you sent the letter? Which company did you initiate the loan with? I have some lates reported by Nelnet and I am trying to get them removed.

Re: First success in sight! Yeah! US Dept of Ed to delete lates!

his loans were through the US Dept of Education so they could remove the lates. They

will NOT remove them from other companies. If your loans are not consolidated do that.

Once they are paid off the HEA is no longer in effect on your loan and the company will

be more likely to GW! Smiley Happy

Wow! Fantastic! You are among the VERY FEW who have accomplished this. Great, great news!
