I forget exactly what year this all occurred but at least a few years ago there was a Popmoney transaction in the amount of $100.00.
The funds at the time couldn't be recouped.
This was going back to BBVA (prior to the PNC Bank merger). Since the funds couldn't be recouped and the Popmoney profile ended up in cancelled status (the Bill Payment profile).
The way CheckFree Collections works is they invoiced the bank, the customer pays the bank, and the bank notifies CheckFree. That is never so easy.
So, back in 2020 I noticed when I couldn't use Bill Payment at PNC Bank. I was finally able to have CheckFree to take a payment from me in the amount of $100. They advised me on that call and in a CFPB complaint in 2020 that the profile status was removed from cancelled to being reactivated.
Because of this and I left PNC in 2020.
Recently in 2021 and I opened a new account with PNC, and I am trying to use Bill Payment and I spoke with them a few times with their Online Banking and finally got an update. They told me they submitted a request to Fiserv to reactivate the profile and I have to speak with Fiserv. This is going around in circles.
Has anyone had any experienced like this before and succeeded with a Bill Payment profile reactivation?
Sounds like one big pickle. Lots of running around over a payment. Never seen so much from a bill pay service. Why not use any banks bill pay instead of a third party that has your banking info. Why were you shut off from PNC's Bill Pay initially? And why go back after all you went thru?
It's not just the PNC Bill Pay. It's with most banks who uses Fiserv as their vendor to process the Bill Pay. I have not used banks where Fiserv played a factor into it in a very long time so it was never an issue. If I went to Santander and I'll be in the same situation. The reason as I indicated in my original post is because of an old collections account that has been paid. It was associated to a Popmoney transaction so they placed it for collections with Fiserv. Since it has been paid and they removed it from collections but there's still an issue with the Bill Pay. I believe PNC is right by contacting Fiserv. I called them this morning and they do not see any profiles from PNC Bank.
