No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Thanks for all the feedback.
When I got home and tried logging into my Discover account, all I got was error messages. I tried 4 different browsers with no luck. The CSR had said I should be able to review charges even though the account had been suspended. I called back Discover and was told no, I would not be able to see anything until after the new account was established in 2 to 3 days.
I now have a new card and can get back in to view charges. All charges showing are legit. The bogus $150 charge is not shown - possibly because it was denied outright or maybe it had been removed after I replied "NO". In any event nothing shows so I can't get any further details.
I did check CK - no new HPs. That's a good sign.
However, I have been receiving an abnormally large # of emails regarding loan applications, Credit One card preapprovals and Amazon orders that I did not place. All have requests for finalization or in the case of "Amazon" show tracking numbers with a click here to check status or valued Amazon customer survey requests.
Clearly some bad actors have my email address. I am ignoring all emails of the variety listed above. Fortunately, I use 2-stage security on my personal email account. If my email password were to be hacked, access is still blocked without entering a secondary code texted to my phone. Hopefully ignoring these emails is ok because I don't have time to hunt down alternate methods of contact to respond to companies referenced in all these phishing emails.
