On July 16th someone fraudulently applied for a Chase business credit card using my info.
I received a notification from Experian of the hard inquiry almost immediately. I contacted Experian and Chase and the hard inquiry was removed within 24 hours.
A few days later, a hard inquiry appears on my Transunion report from the same fraudulent application. I called Chase again who informs me they've marked it as fraudulent and notified the credit bureaus. They tell me it will take 60-90 days for the inquiry to go away. I called Transunion who said the only faster way would be to file a fraud report and send them the report and a request for removal.
Is this just a difference between credit bureaus or am I missing something here? 24 hours with Experian vs up to90 days with TU seems pretty drastic.
@Dennis885 I would freeze your credit reports. I would also change passwords on all financial accounts and email. Someone or ones has your information.
First thing I did was freeze all 3 and enroll in fraud alert.
Passwords are next. I also deleted some incorrect phone numbers, one of which was on the application.
