Free CR question.

About the free CRs you're allowed each year-do the years for all the bureaus start on 1/1, or do they start 1 year after the date of your last request from each bureau? In case I'm not making sense, say I get a free CR from TU on 12/30/07-could my next TU freebie request be 1/1/08 or would I have to wait until 12/30/08?

I'd think each new year would start on 1/1, but I'd like to make sure. You just don't never know with these guys :-).

Hi Dazed! Since your questions do not involve CCs, I'm moving your post to the General Credit Issues Forum.

Re: Free CR question.

I believe you can pull from annualcreditreport.com once every 12 months.

It's one year from the date of last request. So if you pulled one today, you'd have to wait until 12/23/08.

Re: Free CR question.

go to ftc.gov

search for free annual credit report

that way you avoid using a bad link that's an id theft site. (ftc.gov's definitely not linking to fraud sites)

I think annualcreditreport.com is the correct link though

Re: Free CR question.

Fairly certain it won't let you re-order by month but the following calendar day of the following year in my experience.

Re: Free CR question.

The state you live indictates how many free credit reports you can request. Unfortuantely www.annualcreditreport.com only gives you one regardless of where you live.

Re: Free CR question.

I've been able to pull one from each of the three per year, which is three credit reports per 12 month period. This means that if you pull experian today, I can still pull equifax tomorrow or six months from now. Same goes for Transunion.
