Freezing reports

Moved for better expeosure, as no one answered in the other forum Smiley Happy

Hello all,

I have a question, I froze all reports about a month ago. SInce then I have not gotten a score update from Credit Karma, Credit Sesame and My Fico when I tried to buy them. My Fico said it was because they are frozen and they cannot access them. They refunded my money. Credit Karma and Sesame both update credit activity but not the score. I know its a FAKO but I still like to see it change. Lastly I cant get any increases on any of my Comenity cards and I feel once again it it becsause the reports are frozen. In the deinal letter it said my credit score is 0 which is obviously not true. I thought freezes only prevented NEW creditors from opening and doing HP's. I thought creditors you already had would still be able to access your reports? Do I really have to unfreeze to get scores updated and SP cli?

Thanks in advance!!

Re: Freezing reports

It shouldnt impact your existing commedity cards, but that is weird showing a 0 score.  Existing creditors aka you have accounts with can access your report regardless if frozen or not.  If you want scores every once in awhile just do a temporary lift for 7 days on all bureaus is the best advise I can give you there, it is kinda a PITA even MYFICO won't do certain reports with them being frozen, although I believe EQ wen't through just fine even though it is frozen, but TU and EX is a no go.

Re: Freezing reports

Thank you for the response, yeah I thought about lifting it but I have to pay to do that and I dont really want to even though t was free to put on. I guess I will just have to wiat it out. Maybe I will unfreeze at the top of the year not for apping but just to get an updated score. Credit Karma wrote back to me and they cant becuase its frozen . Capital One Credit Tracker said although I have the freeze by law they are allowed to gain certain information but the fako score still hasnt changed.

My temporary lifts cost 3 dollars. I think it all depends on your state?

Re: Freezing reports

Varies by state, victims of ID Theft get it for free in every state. Maine, California, to Oregon charge whatever the state determines. It also can be influenced on age, in some states over 65 get free lifts, and locks. So its not uniform. I know when I applied for myEbates, and requested theCLI to25K they could not at first because the file onTU was frozen. It was still a soft which I found odd. Just my meandering exp
