GW letter to Citibank worked!!!

I just received notification from Score Watch. Citibank removed the 120+ days late and I don't see "paid collection" list on my Equifax CR anymore! 12 point increase!!! It might not mean a lot to some people but the 12 points bring me into the 600's...606 baby! I'm hoping if Citibank accepted the GW letter, ExxonMobil and J.Crew will remove the one 30 days late that I had with them Smiley Happy HOORAY!

I want to thank all of you for your help!!!! I'm so addicted to this site! You guys are the best!

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing a letter about my experience with CITIBANK that is a mixture of a grateful "thank-you" and a pressing request concerning a credit card tradeline in my credit files that I would like to have revised.

I received two Citibank cards in 2000 and had always paid on time. That is until September and October of 2003, when my “downward spiral” began. To be honest, the last few years have been a "wake-up" call for me regarding fiscal organization. I often wonder where I had gone wrong, from being fiscally responsible then almost overnight (and the couple of years following), a mess! I now believe I have re-learned the essential organizational and financial management principles I desperately needed at that point. I fully recognize my responsibility with respect to payable accounts and have worked diligently to rehabilitate my relationship with creditors since that time.

Because of my good payment history during the duration of the cards (for the exception of the two months on the account xxxx), I would like you to consider removing the negative payment from my credit report. I hope that you are willing to work with me on erasing this mark from my credit reports. I also hope that one day you will renew your confidence in me and give me a second chance at a relationship with you.

Very hopefully yours,
