GW response - this is "fraud"

So my auto loan company replied saying they cannot revise my credit rating to a more positive rating. They said it is against policy and they would be "committing fraud by doing so".

Is there any follow up I can send or should I just give up? Or try again in a few months?

Also I paid off my loan completely in July but my credit file says they cannot locate me since November 2005 to November 2007. First they have no reason to locate me after July 2007 and furthermore I was never out of contact with them for more than 30 days.

I had a very valid excuse too with documentation (not that it matters).

Thanks.

kbox, Ford Credit told me what they told you last week when I talked to them.

I paid off a car loan with them last August. In good standing, but with 2 late payments over the life of the loan. And with me the lates were justified, so I've given up trying. I don't need to rock the boat more than it's already been rocked.

Re: GW response - this is "fraud"

I'd let them know you anticipate buying & financing many more cars in your life, as well as your family, friends, and co-workers... and that you have heavy influence, because as a member of myFICO.com, you have a vast knowledge of how credit reporting works, how to do personal credit repair, and everyone you know comes to you for credit advice, whether it's choosing which credit card companies to apply with, mortgage advice, or financing a car.  And that if they were to change the reporting to more favorable reporting, you would be more apt to recommend financing vehicles with their company.  I've used this tactic, and followed through on my word with referrals, when dealing with various vendors in my life and more than 50% of the time it has worked.  So you offer them something, no threats as you never know what they are going to write down in your personal file... and you never know if you'll need to finance another vehicle with them again.

They'll tell you it's against the law, and it's fraud, but it's actually just against company policy.
