Game over?

First of all, let me say that this board has been a tremdous source of help.

Where am I today? (I used to have to do this in a psychology class)

I disputed a dental bill that is showing up on my credit report. They, initially, sent me a computer print out that showed that I had the debt and that I paid them off. I knew all of that.

However, I disputed it because it is still showing as a negative on my credit report. I initially had the work done back in October 2003. It *looks* like I made payments on the debt until 2005, but then it went to the snakes at the collection agency, because it shows as a "write off."

I found out about it in October of 05 and paid off the debt in full.

I talked to the agency again and told them that I wanted the debt validated, and what they sent me back was another print out, this time from the original creditor, showing where I made a couple of payments and then where they had it written off. The credit agency also sent me the "confidential personal and medical history" form that I signed on the original date of service.

Am I out of options now? This is just a debt that I did pay, and I just want it removed, but is there any options that I can now do to achieve this?

Re: Game over?

I wish I could send a goodwill letter, but that bridge is burnt, kaput, in flames....last time there was a bridge this burnt was during the Hiroshima blast.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why you should never speak to a credit agency. I should have done everything in writing, because the manager of the credit agency and I have spoken a couple of times, and there isn't any good will left.

I was there...I had the work done....they have paperwork of where I signed in....and it looks like all I have left is goodwill, and when there isn't any goodwill left, you are just screwed.

Don't understand what you mean there is no GW left. GW is something you convince them to do out of the goodness of their hearts, (removing negative when they don't have to).

You just keep sending one every so often, 42cents for a stamped envelope, once a month, could pay off.

Re: Game over?

The reason that I said GW wouldn't work is because the manager of the credit agency and myself have had bad exchanges. She won't do anything to remove any negative information....I am sure of that.

I wonder though....what do you think of the possibility of my just going to the OC and just pleading my case to them to call the credit agency and have them remove the negative paid account off the credit report?

Can they request this, and if so, can the credit agency remove the negative information? This is the only thing that I think might work now.
