Getting CRs

I know this question has probably been answered a hundred times, so forgive me for asking once again:  how often should you get a copy of your credit report?  I got a phone call from one of my creditors about 3 weeks ago and they told me they were going to take the late payments off of all three of my reports and I was just wondering if that had happened.  The last copy of my reports that I paid for were in January.

Thanks to all of you!

Re: Getting CRs

It's a matter of personal preference I think... I'm willing to bet some Fico junkies here pull 'em once a month and maybe more haha.  I just repulled my EX score after a month to see how a few small changes had effected it Smiley Very Happy

Or sign up for a 3 bureau monitoring service. Or buy them individually from each bureau.

Opps.......just noticed you said "how often" not "how to"

I pull mine at least once a week. I pay a monthly fee, so might as well. Doesn't count against you.

Re: Getting CRs

I'd say how much money do  you want to devote to pulling your CR's? It varies from person to person.

I think people should pull their 3 cr's at least twice a year.  I pull mine depending on if I'm seeking new credit, like a cc.

I subscribe to a credit monitoring service which allows me to pull daily cr's. While it comes with scores, they are FAKO scores which are useless, other than judging monthly changes in scoring.

I like to pull my FICO reports at least once per calendar quarter....just for the self satisfaction of seeing my FICO scores change. For scoring purposes.

For reviewing what is actually contained in the body of the CR itself, while totally disregarding scores, annualcreditreport.com is a must. It gives you EVERYTHING on your CR, including soft inquiries.

(just my opinion)
