Found plenty of threads on this Freecreditreport.com but have not found an answer to a question that I have. At some point in the past I signed up an canceled with Freecreditreport.com. I recently went to Experian directly to purchase my report and score but was redirected to Freecreditreport.com. Is there any way that I can get the report and score directly from Experian? Freecreditreport.com's customer service is extremely useless in this regard. I've tried multiple reps and they either don't understand the question or run off on other, unrelated topics (like offering a discounted 3 bureau score and report).
At what point were you redirected? I just tried it and it never redirected me.
Have you used your annualcreditreport.com reports for the 12 months?
You do know the score is not a FICO score?
After logging into Experian.com. I'm not concerned about whether the score is FICO or not. I knew there was incorrect information on my Experian report and needed to dispute it. I don't want to deal with Freecreditreport.com any longer. Dealing with Experian is already a hassle and I don't want to deal with an additional layer of hassle on top of that.
Already used my Annualcreditreport allotment for the year or else I would have used it.
Answers so far after 4 calls and as many email messages:
If you're thinking of signing up for FreeCreditReport.com just be aware of that apparently you're stuck with FreeCreditReport.com even after you cancel. I'm unable to file an online dispute. I get an error page when I try but the page doesn't tell me why I cannot file and online dispute and FreeCreditReport..com customer service is unable to as well. Guess it's time to escalate this. I'm sure things on their end aren't as simple as they seem on my end but I should be able to get my report and dispute directly with Experian. I've done so in the past and, as indicated in this thread, others are able to do so as well.
I signed up for a Experian score directly from experian. I signed up for the free trial membership which included the 'what if' simulator, since myfico doesnt have a sim for Experian. From what I can see, it is not a Fico score because it is 3 point off of what this site reports and the score from my loan officer that i have been working with. Plus, their 'what if' simulator is pretty stupid. It does not allow you simulate paying off debt or paying bills on time for a length of time. It does allow you to simulate a change in utilization and # of installment loans (which are usually high $ loans that aren't quickly paid off) and # of inquires (which you really cant decrease, they have to fall off). So for me, it was useless so I called and cancelled (which was a PAIN, you have to say "NO" 10 times before they will actually cancel the subscription.
I had trouble with TR or EQ can't remember which to buy a one time report, so I did a search on there site for one time credit report and it poped right up. They try and hide this so they can sell you there monthly service.
