I have a charge off on my reports that was Paid in Full after the charge off date.
This is how the same paid charge off is reported to the 3 agencies:
Transunion: (Per report direct from Transunion)
Pay Status: >Payment After Charge
Off/Collection
Experian: (Per report direct from Experian)
Paid,Closed/Account charged off. $1,636 written
off.
Equifax: (Per report purchased through Myfico)
Paid charge off
Account closed by credit grantor
**Note on this report it also indicates that Current Status is "Bad Debt/Collection"
I have compared these to the report from TrueCredit which shows:
Transunion: Payment after charge off/collectio
Experian: Unpaid Balance Reported as loss by credit grantor
Equifax: Paid Charge off
QUESTIONS
1. What is the best method for getting these all to report correctly? A letter from the OC (Cap 1)? I disputed online which is how I got the status changed on Experian and TU to Paid; However Experian comments of "written off" would indicate they were not paid. Equifax won't change anything; and Experian comments seem to cancel out the "paid". Suggestions?
2. Should I be concerned about the "Bad Debt/Collection" remark on the Equifax report? I don't see that remark on the True Credit report
