Hi All!
Does anyone have advice as to the best way to get TU & EXP to update a balance quickly? My Mother has a credit card that has not been updated on TU since May 2021.
I was considering getting a letter from the credit card company with the current balance and submitting it to Transunion, but I wanted to ask for any best practices before doing so to help ensure the highest likelihood of a quick successful result.
I know this process is common within the real estate industry when we need to do rapid rescores, but wondering best practices when you're not doing a rapid rescore, but just want them to report accurate and timely data.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Contact the creditor that supplies the info to the CRA's. TU & EX probably have no clue because they didnt recieve any input from the creditor. Go to the source first. Just call and ask. Maybe they can fix it then or have an explanation on the delay. Good luck!

@FireMedic1 Thank you. I figured they definitely reported it because Equifax has it updated properly. However, her Experian will be updated tomorrow so I'll see if it's finally reported correctly.
Excellent. Keep us updated so others who experience the same thing can learn from this. Good Luck!

@FireMedic1 I checked her report again today. It still hasn't reported. I called Signal Financial CU and they told me that they no longer report to Experian and Transunion. I asked if they notified their customers. This is clearly a big deal and I thank God that I've been paying attention to it because it's definitely time to make some different moves regarding her credit card usage and building relationships with other great banks.
Although they do not report, does anyone know the rules and best practices around "forcing" TU & EXP to at least report accurate information? Right now, her card reports a balance on both and it was paid down to $0. Ideally I just want it to report a $0 balance for the last reported balance on TU & EXP and then I'll leave it alone altogether and she can just use it only so it stays open.
Talk about leaving you hanging. Sheesh. Well the CRA's only report what's given to them. I'd file disputes. Then Signal Financial CU would have to update your file. Get that $0 balance showing. Then let it ride on out.
