Got a few issues, Help please

I pulled the three reports again.  I got a few issues. Please give me a hand on what you think i should do. Thanks guys.

1.) I sent a GW to verizon for a phone charge. The GW worked i guess since now it is not on my Equifax or TU report but it still shows on Experian.  What should i do?

2.) Under the collections tab it shows one item i had in collections. It has since been paid in full ( It shows this on the report). I talked to a lady about 4 months ago from the OC and asked her if she could take it off. She said yes and they were sorry for it still being on there. Should i call back and ask them what the deal is?

3.) I have a loan for a 4 wheeler.  I have had it for about a year now. I had one 60 day late and a 30 day late. I went and told the mgr of the loan place that i would refinance if he would make the bads go away. He said he would do that. I took his word and did not get it in writing. It still shows the lates and has updated to 0 ballance and the new one shows up as fine.

Side note i need a good way to GW Sallie maie i have one 90 day late that is killing me.

1. For the CO that said they would GW but it's still showing, call back. Very very often, CAs will say "we're so sorry it's still showing, we'll fix it" and what they think you  mean is that it's showing as UNPAID, not that it's still listed at all. They don't generally "get" what you mean when you say a collection is still showing. Call back and be very specific that you want the collection completely deleted from your credit report, not just updated to paid, just to make sure they are on the same page as you.

2. For the student loans, I've learned they are pretty unwilling to budge. I GW'd that I was overseas for my DH's deployment & got the standard "we can't change accurate info." It wasn't until I found the wording for the HEROES Act of 2003 that stated they legally couldn't (by decree of our lovely president) list my account as late during the period of his deployment that they agreed to remove it. Really, they should have told ME that the HEROES Act would protect me, but they either didn't know or didn't care. So, if you, your spouse, or your parents have been activated or deployed recently, you might have luck but other than that, maybe not so much.

As a corollary to all this, you should assume that any customer service rep or debt counselor you speak with doesn't know Jack about credit scoring. All too many times, people reach agreements with creditors or debt management companies, thinking they are protected and covered, only to pull their credit reports and find them pockmarked like the surface of the moon.

Thanks ivy,  Do you have any input on the GW from verizon that was removed from 2 of the 3 ?

Thanks newworldman, I will keep that in mind next time i try to talk to them. I have come to find out the hard way that they do not care what happens as long as they can get to the next call.

I'm nervous to give advice on that one. My thoughts are, if they were nice and actually GW'd it, it may just be taking a little longer to delete from TU. HOWEVER, if they weren't nice & it was deleted anyway for some other reason (couldn't validate the account, something else??) they might put it back on if you write back & someone else looks into the account & finds other info..

I'm going to let a mod weigh in, I don't have enough experience to know.

That is what i was thinking. I will just let it be and be glad that it was taken from the other two. congrats on the SL. I wish i had that kind of luck. I am not sure i have seen many people get a GW from sallie maie

I just wish they would have been a little more helpful to us! I had to do the research on my own to find it out, and it's been two years since the lates occured, so for two years I've been dealing with jacked-up interest rates because of them...

They were late because we moved overseas & mail was delayed for months (the rainy season..) and phone/internet service are a luxury when you're paying international rates.
